For nearly 100 years cornet solos were one of the most popular forms of entertainment in America. In fact, the cornet soloists themselves were the pop stars of the day. Jules Levy (1838-1903) and Herbert L.Clarke (1867-1945) are two of the most celebrated cornet soloists in history and they routinely drew huge crowds of people to their concerts.
